My name is Don, I am Irish and began tattooing in India in 1979 and I have been tattooing ever since and picked up several languages on my extensive travels around the world doing the profession I love.

I now live and work in Norfolk where I run the Tattoo Artists Academy as well as two other Tattoo studios with a former trainee of mine.

Training courses are conducted from both of these stodios and are on a strict one to one basis.

All trainees will be presented with a Diploma of Merit on completion of the course.

Although we have no official governing body to control the quality of Tattoo artists work, such as NVQ's ! this diploma will be your passport to starting a Tattoo Studio with the blessing of your local health inspector !

The course I offer and the diploma you will receive is recognised by pro' suppliers and will will enable you to buy Professional Equipment, and set high standards all of which will benefit both you and your clients. You will be safe in the knowledge that you have been trained by a professional

I have seen tattooing 'evolve' from a limited art form, with big thick outlines and with red, green and yellow being the only colours available, to what we have today. Fine lines and subtle 3D shadows along with every colour in the rainbow all help us to produce some masterpieces in a world which knows no limits!

In the time I have been teaching, I have never had to fail a student and I have taught scores of pupils from 20 - 55 years old. I do not for one minute propose to teach anyone to be an artist. This is something you teach yourself or go to art classes. What I teach is the Art of Tattooing and everything you need to know in order to put on a good tattoo in every respect. When you have a machine in your hand which is running perfectly and putting a line of ink in the skin at the correct depth, speed and density, all you have to do is follow the lines on the transfer and it's like drawing with a pen. If however the machine is not running correctly then you will never put a good tattoo on with it, no matter how good your hand to eye cordination.

Tattooing has never been better than it is today! Both for the artists and the client, it is definitely here to stay.
